Caramel Apple Gift in a Jar by My Sisters Suitcase

Hey there, Skip to My Lou readers! We are Nat & Holly of My Sister’s Suitcase, and we’re so excited to be here today! We have followed Cindy’s blog forever and it’s a huge honor to be here. Our blog features DIY projects, home decor, gift ideas and printables. Today we’d like to share our Caramel Apple To-Go gift!

This gift in a jar is perfect for apple season! You can easily put a Caramel Apple Kit together for friends, neighbors or teachers in just a few minutes.Everything I used for the kit I grabbed on a (late-night) trip to the grocery store!

You will need:

  • apples (small size)
  • single-serving caramel dip (found right by the apples – convenient!)
  • candy bar such as Skor – optional
  • wide-mouth quart jars

I’ll admit, I was pretty excited when I found I could fit two apples in my little jar! This is why you must get the wide-mouth jars.

The snack size container of caramel fits in there perfectly, too! The candy bar can be crumbled up on top of the dip for an extra treat.

Don’t worry, we’re not leaving you without a cute printable tag! You can print the PDF of 4 tags (found HERE) or right-click to save this image (already sized at 4×6 inches) and print at your local photo printer! I have been doing this a lot lately because it’s cheap and the color quality is much better than my printer at home.

You can cut the circle out by hand – yup, even if it’s crooked – because it will be hidden by the lid’s ring once you tighten it. I didn’t glue it to the lid so that the jar can still be re-used.

You can also punch it out with a 3″ punch and tie to the jar with twine or ribbon. I love using flattened cupcake liners to decorate the lids of jars! It’s an easy alternative to cutting out paper or fabric.

Do you know someone whose day could be brightened by a little sweet treat to go? We hope you’ll come see us at My Sister’s Suitcase for more gift ideas! Here are two other simple gifts with printable tags that you can use this fall/Halloween!

It is time to “boo”!!! We love booing at our house. Here are instructions on how to start the boo in your neighborhood.  This year we made it super simple! Just download and print the free booing printable on cardstock. Print an extra copy on regular copy paper to stick with your goodies, so your friends can easily make a copy.

Cut out the ghost and let him peek out of your treats. We used black lunch sacks. A  black plastic caldron or plastic pumpkin would be cute too!

These covered button bookmarks make a cute and useful gift for a special friend. I  made a little printable to make them extra easy to gift.

you wrote the book on being a great friend printable

How to Make Covered Button Bookmarks

These covered button bookmarks are super simple to make!

covered button bookmark tutorial

You don’t need many supplies! Grab some fabric scraps, a covered button kit, some blank bookmark clips (found at a craft store), glue gun and needle nose pliers.

button bookmark supplies

To make this craft really easy make sure you get a covered button kit that requires no tools. The button front and back snaps together instead of needing a hammer.  These kits can be found at a fabric or craft store.

Remove the shank (metal piece inside of the top button piece) with needle nose pliers.

On the back of the covered button package it will give you a template so you know how big to cut the fabric you will use to cover the button.

FREE Leprechaun Caramel Apple Printables By Strawberry Mommycakes

Hello! I’m Erin from Strawberry Mommycakes and I am thrilled to be a guest on Skip to My Lou! I design lots of fun, silly printables on my blog…so I wanted to share one with you. These Leprechaun Caramel Apples are so cute and hilarious…and let’s not forget DELICIOUS!!
Leprechaun Caramel Apples by Strawberry Mommycakes for www.skiptomylou.org #stpattysday #printables #freeprintables

To make these yummy treats, stick cake pop sticks in about 12 to 16 apples. Then, follow my instructions and caramel recipe from my Chocolate Caramel pretzels, only use apples instead of pretzels! Check out my video on Facebook to see my caramel dipping technique. For the chocolate, you can either use white chips and dye them green with food colorings, or you can get green chips at a craft store (and sometimes Wal-Mart). I also like to sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the white chocolate before they dry…YUM!!! You can see the image to see the size of the stick and how far it goes in the apple:

Leprechaun Caramel Apples by Strawberry Mommycakes for www.skiptomylou.org #stpattysday #printables #freeprintables

To create the leprechauns, you will need:

  • Caramel Apples (duh!)
  • My FREE leprechaun printables (Silhouette Version Leprechaun and Tags or PDF version)
  • Heavy Card Stock
  • 4 inch cellophane bags (make sure they have folds on the side, otherwise the apples will not fit)
  • Ribbon or bakers twine
  • Small pom poms
  • Scissors (or your Silhouette Machine)
  • Hot Glue Gun

Leprechaun Caramel Apples by Strawberry Mommycakes for www.skiptomylou.org #stpattysday #printables #freeprintables

Instructions:

  1. Print the printables on heavy card stock and cut them out with scissors or using your Silhouette Cameo.
  2. After the apples are done drying, place them in the bag. You may have to trim the top of the bag a little so it doesn’t show.
  3. Tie the bag tight with ribbon or bakers twine.
  4. Tie the “Lucky You” tag to the bag with the ribbon. Cut ribbon close to the tag or tie in a bow.
  5. Glue leprechaun face to the stick of the caramel apple with the hot glue gun.
  6. Place a teeny amount of hot glue on the back of a pom pom. Let it cool for a second (so it doesn’t melt the bag), then stick it to the bag. Repeat with the other pom poms.

Hope you enjoyed these cute treats! The people you give these to are going to love you forever…I promise!

This punny sock valentine is a cute idea for anyone! Who doesn’t need socks?  Grab a few and gift your friends, husband and kids!  If you would prefer to write a note these Love Note Valentines are just for you! Don’t miss these amazing Valentines.  I have teamed up with some of the most creative bloggers to share the cutest Valentines imaginable. Each day you will be amazed with their cleverness! Don’t miss these fabulous ideas.

Welcome Bree,

Hello! My name is Bree and I blog over at bumblebreeblog where I share gift ideas, home decor tutorials, and my DIY crafts.  I love holidays and giving gifts to my friends and family.  Valentine’s Day is one of my favorites, so I wanted to share this Punny Sock Valentine with you!  I am even going to share a free printable with you so that you can make your own Punny Sock Valentines to give out to love ones.  They are super cute and great for last minute gifts.  Sock Valentine-44

What would Valentine’s day be without silly puns and phrases?  In my opinion, all valentines should have puns on them!  That is why I created 5 different sock puns which are sure to amuse anyone from 3 to 103!

Punny Sock Valentine

Punny Sock Valentines

Things You Need

  • Silly Socks (I got mine from the dollar bin at Target)
  • Punny Sock Valentines Printable
  • Paper Cutter
  • Washi Tape

Sock Valentine-5

Step 1

Buy some super cute  Valentine silly socks.  The more fun and bright, the better!  As I said before, I got mine at Target in the dollar bin.  Sweet!  Five pairs of socks for $5 – that is my type of gift.  The ones that I choose are each unique in their own way, like the friends who I was giving them to.

Sock Valentine-6

Step 2

Print out Punny Sock Valentines on regular printer paper.  Since this valentine requires a simple wrap, regular printer paper works perfect.  This allows you to keep the cost low and you don’t have to send it some where special to have it printed.  Perfect for the last minute valentine.

Sock Valentine-8

Step 3

Cut your Punny Valentines using a paper cutter, that way your valentines will be straight and fit on your socks correctly.  The frames on these printable are really close to the edge so there is not a lot of room for error.

Sock Valentine-10

Step 4

Now its time to create your valentine.  Fold the top and bottom of the socks towards the middle, then flip the socks over.  Place the printable around the bundle of socks and attache the back using a piece of washi tape.

Sock Valentine-12

That is it!  A super easy and quick valentine that is perfect for anyone in your life.  I hope that you enjoyed my free printable!  It was definitely a labor of love.  If you want more details on how I created this printable feel free to contact me and I can give you all the details.

I hope you enjoyed my simple punny sock valentine!  Who do you know that would love to receive this valentine?  I hope you will visit me over at bumblebreeblog.  I have a tutorial on DIY Gold Glitter Pills and all the details on how to create our own Canvas Art.  You should check them out and leave me so love.  I also love hanging out on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and G+.  Let’s Connect!!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Idea – Summer Tote & Free Printable!

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up this week (the first week of May).  Get creative with these  ideas from some of the most talented bloggers during my Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas series! All April we will be featuring great ideas. I can’t wait to see what they share. You will be totally prepared with ideas to thank your teachers!  This Pencil Sharpener Charm Bracelet is the perfect way to give a handmade gift. Give a gift card with these colorful teacher appreciation gift card holder.

Hi! I’m Jen Hadfield from Tatertots & Jello, and I’m sharing a fun teacher appreciation gift idea today!

With four kids, I’ve seen firsthand the power of a great teacher — and I don’t think we can thank our teachers enough for all they do. I love to find ways to support them!

As the year ends, it’s a great chance to share thanks one more time with our children’s teachers. So here’s a fun summer tote idea, complete with free printable!

teacher.appreciation.tote-4

This is so easy and fun to do. I don’t want to give my kids’ teachers more food (although I’m happy to bring cookies and other snacks to the teachers lounge during parent teacher conferences!) — but I do want them to feel appreciated.

So here’s all you need to put this together:

I popped down to my local variety store and picked up a cute black and white tote, along with a beach towel, insulated tumbler, flip flops, a couple of snacks and a gift card (you don’t need to include the gift card). Include whatever you think your child’s teacher might enjoy during the summer — even a novel or a magazine!

teacher.appreciation.tote-2

Then just print out the free printable tags below, choose the color you like best, and have your child sign his or her name on the back!

Here are the printables!

Just right-click this link or the image below and choose “save link as” to download the printable PDF!

teacher.totes.awesome.summer

This a great way to make sure your teachers know you “totes” appreciate them!

Cute Easter Buckets with FREE Printables

0
0

Create these EASY and Cute Easter Buckets (plus, I’ve included some FREE Printables!). Easter is full of springtime themes and fun activities for kids – and candy – and these buckets are a nice twist on Easter baskets for kids. They make perfect Easter gifts.Cute Easter Buckets with FREE Printables

I’m always excited for Easter because we have a big break from holidays after Christmas. Don’t get me wrong… it’s a much needed break, but I still love preparing for each holiday and Easter is no exception!

Cute Easter Buckets with FREE PrintablesI think this is going to be the year of the chic Easter basket because gold is popping up EVERYWHERE! I decided to join in on the trend with these cute buckets! The printables are very versatile, though, so you don’t have to stick to the trend if you’re not a big fan of gold.

These simple printables are a great, super easy way to create personalized Easter baskets, favors, and buckets. You can print as many of them out for personal use for free as you want, then add them to your Easter dinner table decorations, use them as gift tags, and more.

Cute Easter Buckets with FREE Printables

How to Make Personalized Easter Buckets

To make these, you’ll need:

  • My FREE Printables, for personal use only
  • Galvanized buckets (I found them at Target in the dollar section)
  • Easter grass (also at Target!)
  • Card Stock
  • Scissors
  • 2″ hole punch (optional)
  • 3″ hole punch (optional)
  • Hot glue or tape
  • Ribbon
  • Paper Straws
  • Easter candy of your choice ( I used gold eggs to match!)

Cute Easter Buckets with FREE Printables

First, download and print the printables on heavier card stock paper. Next, cut out the bunnies with scissors and the circle tags with hole punches, then attach them to matching paper straws with glue or tape. The buckets I bought already had a ribbon tied to them – I removed those ribbons and tied metallic bows on the sides instead.

Now you’re ready to fill your buckets with Easter grass and candy and insert the straws down the sides of the buckets. You can also print out the large Easter tag and attach it to the front of the buckets using the tape or hot glue. Whether you include the straws or affix the tags to them, I think they’re adorable. And if you’re making a bunch, it’s so cute to mix and match so you’ve got a whole variety to choose from!

Cute Easter Buckets with FREE Printables

These are super easy, right?? Personalized favors and cute buckets for your Easter celebrations and egg hunts in no time. They only took me a few minutes to put together, and that’s including design time… so I pretty much cut your Easter preparation in half. You’re welcome 🙂
